How it connects

CargoWise is WiseTech Global's logistics execution platform, used by freight forwarders, NVOCCs and customs brokers to run forwarding, customs, warehousing and accounting in one database. For most forwarders it is the system of record for the house and master bill, the container, the consol and the carrier's payable invoice.

ATAHSKIA reads forwarding shipments, consols, container records, milestone events and AP transactions from your CargoWise instance, matches each detention, demurrage or per diem payable to the container and B/L it relates to, and runs the 20 element check of 46 CFR § 541.6 plus the 30-day issuance test of § 541.7. Audit results, dispute status and recovered amounts are written back as notes or documents on the shipment so your operators and accounts team see them where they already work.

For an NVOCC the timing matters twice. You have 30 days from receiving the carrier's invoice to issue your own (§ 541.7(b)), and if you pass the charge through, the billed party can still challenge the underlying carrier invoice. Catching a defective carrier invoice in CargoWise before you rebill it keeps you from passing on a charge your customer has no obligation to pay.

Setup

  1. Agree the connection method

Your CargoWise administrator chooses how data leaves the instance: the eAdaptor XML interface where your licence includes it, or a scheduled file export to SFTP. We work with whichever your IT team already supports.

  2. Map charge codes

List the AP charge codes your branches use for detention, demurrage, per diem, storage and terminal fees. ATAHSKIA only pulls payables on those codes, so freight and customs lines stay out of scope.

  3. Map milestone events

Confirm which event codes your operators use for discharge, availability, customs release, gate out and empty return. These drive the chargeable day rebuild for every container.

  4. Run the 12-month backfill

Load the last 12 months of shipments and payables. The retrospective audit report lands within 48 hours and shows which charges are still inside a dispute window.

  5. Turn on write-back

Choose whether findings post as shipment notes, attached PDF packets or both, and which staff role sees them.

What it recovers

Stop rebilling defective carrier invoices

A carrier per diem invoice arrives without the free time start and end dates. ATAHSKIA flags it in CargoWise before your team issues the pass-through, and drafts the relief request to the carrier the same day.

Catch late invoices across branches

Invoices issued more than 30 days after the container's empty return are flagged automatically under § 541.7, even when a branch keyed them weeks after receipt.

Prove the container was not available

Availability and hold milestones already in CargoWise rebuild the demurrage clock, so days billed while a freight or customs hold was active show up as disputed days in the packet.

CargoWise integration FAQ

Do you need full read access to our CargoWise database?

No. We read only the shipment, consol, container, milestone and AP data needed for the audit, filtered to the charge codes you approve. Nothing in CargoWise is changed except the notes or documents you enable for write-back.

We have several CargoWise companies and branches. Does that work?

Yes. Each company code maps to a tenant entity in ATAHSKIA, and scorecards and recovery reports can be split by branch or rolled up.

Is this an official WiseTech integration?

ATAHSKIA connects through the interfaces your CargoWise licence makes available to you. It is not a WiseTech product and we do not claim a formal partnership.
