Recovery Operations Specialist
Work customer dispute queues end to end, from audit exception to credit memo. Reporting to Rahul Bansal, VP Customer Recovery, you will review packets before they go out, follow up with carrier and terminal billing desks, and make sure every relief request lands inside the window and every response is tracked against the billing party's 30-day deadline.
What you'll do
- Review audit exceptions and dispute packets for a portfolio of BCO, NVOCC and exporter accounts, checking evidence, citations and amounts before approval.
- Follow up with carrier and terminal billing teams on open disputes and record outcomes, partial credits and reasons for denial.
- Prepare second-round relief requests with additional evidence when a denial is not supported, and assemble charge complaint dossiers for customers who choose to submit one.
- Run free retrospective audits for new customers and walk their teams through the findings.
- Feed patterns you see (new invoice formats, recurring billing errors, evidence gaps) back to product and regulatory teams.
What you bring
- 2+ years in freight audit, accounts payable or receivable for a logistics company, ocean documentation or customer operations at a forwarder, NVOCC or carrier.
- Comfort with numbers and dates: you notice when a free time start date and an availability date do not line up.
- Clear, polite written English for professional correspondence with US billing desks.
- Willingness to work a shift that overlaps US Eastern or Pacific business hours on rotation.
Nice to have
- Experience with detention, demurrage or per diem disputes.
- Familiarity with CargoWise, Magaya or a carrier billing portal.
- Advanced Excel or basic SQL.
